Visit Lochalsh - wild and wonderful - Highlands of Scotland

Linger in Lochalsh...

... even the journey is an adventure!

Lochalsh is on the north-west coast of the Highlands of Scotland, north of Fort William, and the Traveline Scotland web site can help to plan your journey.

By Road
From Fort William take the road north and enter Lochalsh at Cluanie on A87. The road passes through awesome Glen Shiel, then drops down to the coast at Loch Duich and hugs the coast past Eilean Donan Castle on its way to Kyle of Lochalsh.

From Inverness and the north - take the A890 and enter Lochalsh at Strome Ferry.

By Train
Trains operate between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh (one of Michael Palin's best train journeys in the world!) and at Inverness link up with the east coast mainline and the sleeper service to London.

By Bus
Buses operate from Inverness, Fort William and Portree and there are local services from Kyle of Lochalsh to the smaller villages.

Taxi, car hire and cycle hire are all available locally.
